Things God Hates (That People Do Every Day — Even the Silly Ones!)

By Isaac's Kids

“Bad things will happen to people who say good is bad and bad is good.” – Isaiah 5:20

This might be the most important post you’ll read today — especially if you think you're a "good person."

God loves people — but He hates sin. That means when we do wrong things, especially the ones the Bible talks about in Proverbs 6:16–19, we’re not just being “naughty” — we’re doing things that make God very sad.

God isn’t trying to scare us — He wants to protect us. He tells us what’s wrong so we can stop, say sorry, and choose what’s right.

If you’ve done any of these things (and let’s be honest, we all have), just ask God to forgive you.

He always gives us another chance if we mean it.

But when we keep doing these things? The devil (God’s enemy) gets excited — like he's sneaking into your heart wearing flip-flops and eating cheese puffs. 🧁👹

Here are 7 things God hates — with silly but helpful examples so you’ll never forget!

1. Proud Eyes

(Acting like you're better than everyone else)

🦚 Silly Example: You walk into class like a peacock in sunglasses, toss your hair, and say, “I’m way smarter than all of you!”

📖 Truth: God doesn’t like when we brag or act like we’re the best. He wants us to be kind and humble — not like a walking ego balloon.

You might call it confidence. Swagger. Self-love.
But God sees pride — the same rebellious spirit that made the devil get kicked out of Heaven.
"How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer..." – Isaiah 14:12

Every time we elevate ourselves, mock others, or post to impress — that proud look isn't just a bad habit… it’s a satanic spirit in disguise.
"God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble." – James 4:6

2. A Lying Tongue

(Telling lies — even little ones)

🗣️ Silly Example: You tell your teacher your dog ate your homework, but your dog is a goldfish named Mr. Bubbles. 🐟

📖 Truth: God hates lies. Even funny ones. Even the “tiny” ones.

Every lie — no matter how small — carries the devil's DNA.
"You belong to your father, the devil... for he is a liar and the father of lies." – John 8:44

You don’t need a Ouija board to invite a demon in. Just lie to your parents, your brothers, or your friends — you’ve cracked the door wide open.

3. Hands That Hurt Innocent People

(Being mean to someone who didn’t do anything wrong)

👊 Silly Example: You smack your little brother with a pool noodle because he looked at your cookie.

📖 Truth: God says never hurt others — with fists, words, or pool noodles. Especially when they didn’t deserve it.

But it’s more than just pool noodles. This could mean hitting someone, bullying with words, or even online comments. God sees it all.

Think deeper: abortion, abuse, character assassination, cancel culture.
Killing someone’s future, dignity, or reputation is spiritual bloodshed.

And the demons? They applaud every time.

4. A Heart That Plans to Do Bad Things

(Thinking of ways to be sneaky or mean)

🧠 Silly Example: You’re lying in bed like an evil genius thinking, “Tomorrow I will steal my friend’s crayons and blame it on the hamster!” 🐹

📖 Truth: God sees our hearts, not just our actions. If we plan to do wrong, it’s already sin in His eyes.

If you're always thinking about how to trick someone, get revenge, or manipulate people for gain — that breaks God's heart.

The devil loves secret sin — and he’s whispering in your ear while you plot in the dark, even if nobody else knows.

5. Feet That Run to Do Evil

(Getting excited to do something wrong)

🏃 Silly Example: The moment your mom says “Don’t touch that cake,” you sprint to the kitchen like a ninja to stick your whole face in it. 🍰

📖 Truth: God wants us to run toward good, not trouble. Even if that cake looks sooooo good.

If you can't wait to gossip, to party, to sin — again?
When sin becomes your hobby, don't be surprised when torment becomes your companion.

6. A False Witness Who Tells Lies About Others

(Lying to get someone else in trouble)

🕵️ Silly Example: You tell your teacher, “Billy turned into a dragon and burned my homework,” just to get him in trouble. 🐉🔥

📖 Truth: Making up stories that hurt people is something God truly hates. It breaks trust and breaks hearts.

Every time you lie about someone to make them look bad, you’re joining the devil.
He is the accuser. Don't stand on his side.

7. Someone Who Starts Fights Between Friends

(Causing drama or division)

👂 Silly Example: You whisper to one friend, “Emma said you smell like expired cheese,” and then watch the chaos like it’s a soap opera. 🧀😲

📖 Truth: God loves peace. He wants friends and families to stay close — not fall apart because of gossip or drama.

God despises division. Every time you stir the pot, talk behind someone’s back, or plant seeds of doubt — you’re doing hell’s work.
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God." – Matthew 5:9

Sin Might Be Funny Now... But It’s Not a Joke

Sin can seem like a silly little thing, but it’s not. Every time we do something God hates, we’re pushing Him away — and letting the enemy (who is never silly) sneak in.

A lot of people do these things and think, “It’s no big deal.”
But it is a big deal to God. And every time we sin, it's like opening a door and letting darkness in — like saying, “Hey devil, come in.”

Normalized Sin Is Still Sin

We excuse all these. We say “nobody's perfect” or “God understands.”
But remember: God doesn’t lower His standard because the world does.

You don’t need to see horns or red eyes to be under demonic influence. Sometimes, it’s in the everyday — the pride, the lies, the division.
The demon is already there, smiling as you scroll, comment, and compromise.

But There’s Good News

You’re not too far gone. If you’re still reading, God is still calling.
He will ALWAYS forgive us when we say sorry and ask for help. 🙏💖

Wake Up. Repent.

This is not a message of doom — it’s a warning of mercy. God hates sin because it destroys you. Because it opens the door to evil that wants your soul.
But His mercy still calls.

Repent. Return. Shut the door.
"Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." – James 4:7

A Simple Prayer:

“Dear God, I’m sorry for doing things You don’t like. Please help me stop and live the way You want. I want to close the door on sin and keep it shut! In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
